TALKING STICK FESTIVAL
Western Canada’s Premier Indigenous Performing Arts Festival Celebrates 20 Years with
The Season of Four Fires
We begin in The Winter Lodge: Sitting with our Ancestors
February 18–27, 2021
Free
Welcome to The Winter Lodge, the first of the Talking Stick Festival’s year-long, four-season presentation of Indigenous performance and art celebrating its 20th Anniversary. Nothing can replace a physical gathering to celebrate our Relations, yet we can still be together if we set our intentions. We invite you to join us online to celebrate and keep our communities connected throughout the 4 seasons of this year. Full Circle calls to all four directions and all our relations to gather around four fires in each season: winter, spring, summer, and fall over the entire 2021 theatrical season.
From February 18–27, the festival presents a series of online events featuring: music, dance and movement, poetry and spoken word, readings, discussions, workshops — and more.
The programming includes:
Thursday, February 18: Talking Stick Festival 20th Anniversary Gala — A Gathering of Hearts and Spirit
kw’am’kw’um’ tth’utth’ele’s kw’am’kw’um’ sxwulis
íyim welháynexw ta tsalí7
Friday, February 19: Rez Blues
Friday, February 26: From Talking Stick to Microphone
Saturday, February 27: Virtual Dance Party
Nothing can replace a physical gathering to celebrate our Relations, yet we can still be together if we set our intentions. The Fire calls us into right relations with each other; celebrating acts of artistic transformation, creative defiance, community-building and space-making — even if we have to do so digitally.
All shows and events are FREE, full schedule and show links are online
